Whole Home Air Cleaners

The average person breathes 3,400 gallons of air each day. Unfortunately, air isn't all you're inhaling. Mold spores, pollen, bacteria, dust and other particles exist in virtually all indoor air. According to the Environmental Protection Agency, the air inside a home can be 2-5 times more polluted than air outside.

When installed into your home's central heating and cooling system, a whole-house air cleaner traps and filters airborne particles and contaminants passing through the duct system to make sure that cleaner air is distributed to all rooms in your home. A whole-house air cleaner can also help to maintain the performance of your furnace and air conditioner by keeping it clean.

Whole Home Humidifiers

In order to make your home as comfortable as possible, you need to add moisture to the air. Doing so reduces dry throat and skin, static shocks, keeps furniture and your home from drying out and increases energy efficiency. It's become well known that a home with moisture feels warmer than a dry home, even at lower temperature settings.

Whole Home Dehumidifiers

It is no secret that summer time in Missouri is especially humid.  It is not rare to have a day when it is 90* outside with 80% humidity.  It is hot and very uncomfortable.  Dehumidifiers offer a great way to lower the humidity in you home, allowing you to raise the temperature.  Not only can you feel more comfortable in your home, you can save money on your cooling bill!  Aprilaire offers a 5 year warranty on their whole home dehumidifiers.  Not only is the warranty better than anything you can find in a big box store, but they work more efficiently and remove a lot more moisture.

Thermostats

You may think it is odd to have thermostats in the Air Quality section, but actually, thermostats can be very useful in the pursuit of healthy, comfortable indoor air!  New thermostats offer event based air cleaning, meaning that if you are doing your regular cleaning like sweeping, vacuuming and dusting, you can set the thermostat to clean the air for a desired amount of time.  This will allow any dust that you stir up doing your choirs to be trapped in the air filter and remove it from the air you breathe.  They also offer a circulate feature.  This means that your circulation fan will come on and run a predetermined amount of time every hour allowing dust and allergies to be removed from the air and stay in your homes air filter.  One of the most advanced thermostats on the market is a WiFi thermostat made by Lennox.  During the setup, you put in your zip code allowing the thermostat to access your local weather data.  It monitors your local weather and allergy count and on high pollen days, it will automatically run the circulation fan to help remove any pollen or allergens in the air.
